Allow us to re-introduce ourselves!
Generation 2 Generation has a new look...
... but don't worry, we are still doing the same FREE estate planning legal services including...
For those of you who have been with G2G since the beginning of the program, THANK YOU for continuing to support our work, and for those of you who are new... WELCOME to the community! |

WHY G2G?
For too many Black families in NYC, inheriting a home does not lead to SUSTAINED homeownership. Deed theft, predatory lending, expensive entanglements with tax liens and other inherited debts are MAJOR obstacles to the SAFE transfer of home across generations.
In the work that the Center for NYC Neighborhoods did prior to creating the project, they found that estate planning resources are UNDERUTILIZED by many Black homeowners for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to:
-
The lack of affordable services
-
Distrust of the legal system
-
A lack of education on the necessity of estate planning
|
|
|
WHAT IS G2G?
Generation 2 Generation (G2G) Estate Planning is here to answer the call for affordable estate planning legal services for low- to moderate-income Black homeowners in NYC, specifically in South Brooklyn, Central Brooklyn & the North Bronx by providing pro bono (FREE) estate planning legal services AND by leading a community education campaign to raise awareness about the importance of these services!
**Black homeowners living in these 3 areas are the TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC but these services are FREE AND AVAILABLE
to ALL NYC residents. |
